Candle Care

Candle Care

It’s important to learn correct Candle Care to get the most out of your candles.

First Burn

When lighting for the first time, burn for a minimum of 3 hours or until the wax melts across the entire surface of the jar. This prevents tunnelling and creates an even burn.

Burn Duration

DO NOT burn your candle for longer than 4 hours at one time. This can damage the wick which may cause it to fall over, lift or result in an undesirable burn.

When Re-lighting

Before each burn, trim wick to 7mm (taking off the black ends) - to promote an even burn, steady flame and limit mushrooming of the wick.

Candle at end of burn

Never burn your candle to the very end/bottom of the glass!

Always leave 1cm of wax at the bottom.

If burnt to the very end of the glass, there is a risk that the candle flame will heat the glass to much and it will crack or break.

It also leaves black soot on your glass.

Leave 1cm of wax in the bottom of your jar.  Heat the sides of the glass gently with a heatgun or hairdryer, to loosen the wax and you should be able to dig the wax and wick out.  Throw this in a rubbish bin. Wipe out your jar with paper towels and throw these in the rubbish bin.  Wash your glass gently with warm, soapy water and your jar can be reused or repurposed!

Burn It Safely!

Always burn your candles on a heat-resistant surface, avoid drafts and never leave it unattended.  Keep out of reach from children & pets.
